Examining Whether Ethical Recommendation Systems Improve Equal Access to Digital Attention

I've been part of the research team now for going on five months and I can say it's been a great experience. Thanks to Delante Clark, the founder of the Attention Safeguard Model, I've had the chance to apply the skills I learned in class to an actual research team. This team has allowed me to sharpen my skills and provide clarity in areas I was less familiar with. I look forward to continuing to work alongside this group.

Engineering Empathy: Integrating Attentional Safeguards to Mitigate Stress in Hospital Application Portals.

Conducting research with Delante Clark completely changed how I look at research. My biggest takeaway was definitely learning how to properly write a research paper from start to finish. It was super hands-on, and I actually learned how to format everything correctly in APA style, figure out which sources are valid versus invalid, and understand complex concepts like ASM models and CAS. He created I.D.E.A.S. for us to use to track our assignments through C.L.A.S.S. , which made a huge difference. For the most part, it was pretty simple to use, and the best part was getting feedback right after completing an assignment so you always knew where you stood. Delante is genuinely a "if you have questions, come to me" kind of teacher. He prioritizes communication above everything else, whether you're just confused or falling behind on an assignment, he's always patient and there for you. The workload felt a bit heavy at the beginning, but once we did the readings and got the hang of what to do, it became so much easier to manage. He gives you the space to do your thing, but he's always ready to step in the second you need help. You can tell he truly cares about every single student and wants everyone to succeed. It's been an incredibly inspiring experience that has made me feel so much more confident.
