The Recruitment and Outreach Intern will support efforts to attract, engage, and retain students, volunteers, researchers, and community partners for I.D.E.A.S. programs and initiatives. This position focuses on building relationships, promoting opportunities, and helping expand the organization's network throughout schools, colleges, and communities. Responsibilities Recruit students, volunteers, and participants for research, mentorship, and educational programs. Conduct outreach to high schools, colleges, student organizations, and community groups. Represent I.D.E.A.S. at events, information sessions, and recruitment activities. Maintain recruitment databases and track participant engagement. Assist with onboarding new volunteers and program participants. Develop outreach materials, presentations, and recruitment campaigns. Build partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations. Help coordinate workshops, information sessions, and networking events. The Social Media Intern will support the development and management of I.D.E.A.S.'s digital presence across social media platforms. This role is responsible for creating engaging content, promoting research initiatives and events, increasing audience engagement, and helping expand the organization's online reach. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and passionate about education, research, and community impact. Responsibilities Create and schedule content for social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X. Design graphics, reels, short videos, and promotional materials. Assist with marketing campaigns for research programs, events, and community initiatives. Monitor social media engagement and respond to comments and messages when appropriate. Track analytics and prepare reports on audience growth and engagement. Collaborate with staff and student researchers to highlight achievements, publications, and success stories. Maintain brand consistency across all social media channels. Research trends and recommend strategies to improve engagement and visibility. Qualifications Current college student or recent graduate. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with social media platforms and content creation. Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar tools preferred. Position Overview The Institute for Digital Equity and Attention Science (I.D.E.A.S.) is seeking a motivated and professional Government Affairs & Public Engagement Intern to support outreach efforts with elected officials, government agencies, public leaders, and community stakeholders throughout Florida. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in public administration, political science, public policy, communications, government relations, civic engagement, or nonprofit leadership. The intern will help build relationships that advance the mission of I.D.E.A.S. by identifying opportunities for collaboration, preparing outreach materials, and coordinating communication with public officials and government offices. Key Responsibilities Government Relations Research local, state, and federal elected officials relevant to I.D.E.A.S. initiatives. Maintain contact databases for legislators, government agencies, school districts, and public offices. Draft professional emails, letters, briefing documents, and outreach materials. Assist with scheduling meetings between I.D.E.A.S. leadership and public officials. Track legislation, policy developments, and government initiatives related to education, technology, digital equity, artificial intelligence, and research. External Affairs Support relationship-building efforts with government offices, education leaders, and community partners. Assist in preparing presentations, policy briefs, and informational materials. Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities and public outreach initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in educational programming, student mentorship, research administration, and nonprofit leadership. The Program Coordinator Intern will assist in managing day-to-day program operations, supporting student participants, coordinating events and workshops, maintaining records, and ensuring students successfully progress through program requirements. This role is ideal for individuals interested in education, research, public administration, sociology, nonprofit management, or student development. Key Responsibilities Program Coordination Assist with planning and coordinating program activities, workshops, seminars, and meetings. Support the implementation of program goals and educational initiatives. Maintain program calendars, schedules, and participant records. Monitor student participation and engagement throughout the program. Student Support and Engagement Serve as a point of contact for student participants. Assist students with questions regarding program expectations, deadlines, and activities. Support student onboarding and orientation sessions.
